Skill 1

Skill Name: Crimson Earth | Target: Single | Potency: 51% | Stun: 20% | Recovery: None | Wait Time: 100

After attacking, boosts own critical rate by 100% for 1 turn.

Skill 2

On critical attack, boosts this skill’s stun damage by 200%. Additionally, after attacking, boosts target’s critical damage received by 30% for 2 attacks.

Burst Skill

Skill Name: Dragon Bride’s Guardian Blade | Target: Single | Potency: 400% | Stun: 375% | Wait Time: 200

After attacking, there is a very high chance to inflict Daze on the target for 1 turn. Immediately after, converts the next panel of each ally, except Boost-type Panels and Burst Panels, to Critical Panels (generates them in the case of empty panels).

Passive Skills

Passive Skill 1: “Heart-Piercing Hammer of Love”
Upon acquiring a panel, boosts own critical rate by 100% for 1 turn.

Passive Skill 2: “Critical Cascade II”
Boosts all allies’ critical damage by 20%.

Wedding Rehearsal Antics is a massive boost to her stun power, but it only activates during critical attacks which she can more than likely fulfill without problems. On the other hand, My Partner is a weaker but unconditional and much cheaper alternative to this memoria which is also only an increase to stun damage .

Assuming critical hits, her stun power is extremely high even without a stun related memoria, in which case you would do well on equipping a buffing memoria like Our Masterpiece and To the Academy of Dreams! instead, both of which will match well with her second passive skill and the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait.

If you don’t want to use this trait, on-hit debuffing memorias such as Playing into Her Hand , Sprinkling Magic from the Sky or Adventure to New Horizons are also great option for the reduced Slash, Stab or Strike resistances, but keep their conditions in mind when making a decision.

Vowed Hammer

While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, on critical attack, boosts stun damage by 13 ~ 19%.

Izana’s huge base stun damage on her Skill 2 enables her to neglect her stun related traits quite a bit in favor of more offensive choices. Despite this, sometimes a little bit extra can make a difference between an instant break or not. For these cases, this weapon’s effect is essentially an extra trait slot that will not force you abandon other more offensive traits which tend to be much stronger than item effects.

Divinity’s Edge

While equipped to a Breaker with Slash affinity, after attacking, reduces target’s Slash resistance by 5 ~ 7% for 2 attacks.

Used exclusively when supporting a Slash type damage dealer, this weapon will add a new Slash Resistance debuff to her attacks. This effect will apply on all enemies hit and can stack up to twice. The reduction from this effect will make her own damage and stun damage stronger against enemies already afflicted by it, and it’s her strongest offensive contribution in Slash based teams.

Pointed Iron Staff

While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, when attack target is stunned, boosts the skill damage of the ally with the highest P. ATK by 13 ~ 19% for 1 turn.

After successfully stunning an enemy, Izana will apply a short buff on her highest P.Atk stat ally. This buff is affected by the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait (which you should be using) and its stun requirement is quite easy to meet thanks to her high base stun damage.
This item is recommended to be used alongside the above mentioned trait and a buffing memoria for maximum benefits. If assisting a magic damage dealer, remember to adjust party members’ P.Atk stats or there is a risk of Izana stealing this buff for herself.

Steel Bow

While equipped to a Breaker, boosts stun damage by 6 ~ 8%.

This weapon provides a slight boost to stun damage and has no special conditions required. It’s cheap to make and unlocked very early in the game, making it ideal for beginners without access to any of the above mentioned gear pieces.

Vowed White Kimono

While equipped to a Breaker with Slash affinity, boosts potency of inflicted negative effects by 11 ~ 15%.

Offensive oriented armor that will boost the potency of all her negative effects, in particular her increase critical damage received debuff. This armor is better suited for assisting non-Slash type teams, but it works well with Slash teams when it’s paired with a weapon and accessory that can apply additional negative effects, to increase its effective value.

Vitality Shirt

While equipped to a Breaker with Slash affinity, after attacking, reduces target’s Slash resistance by 5 ~ 7% for 2 attacks.

This armor works exactly as the Divinity’s Edge sword, used exclusively when supporting a Slash type damage dealer, and adding another Slash Resistance debuff to her kit. This effect will apply on all enemies hit and can stack up to twice. The reduction from this effect will make her own damage and stun damage stronger against enemies already afflicted by it, and it’s one of the strongest offensive contributions for Slash based teams.
The Soldier’s Cuirass is a weaker version of this armor, but it’s an event exclusive item that can be cheaper to make if you have many of the materials from this old event.

Hard Coat

Boosts physical stun damage by 6%.

This armor provides a small boost to physical stun damage. It’s one of the first recipes to be unlocked in the game making extremely accessible and cheap, which works great as a placeholder item in the early stages while you unlock more suitable pieces like Champion’s Attire or any of the others mentioned above.

Vowed Ornament

While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, after making a critical attack, boosts target’s critical damage received by 10 ~ 14% for 2 attacks.

Izana’s Best in Slot for most situations, with a condition that’s easy to fulfill and a powerful effect that can stack up to twice and can be enhanced by other pieces of gear like her Vowed White Kimono. This piece is slightly weaker than Vivid Scarf in Slash teams, but always better in any other affinity.

Radiant Coronet

While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, after attacking, boosts enemy’s physical damage received by 5 ~ 6% for 2 attacks.

Intended to assist all kind of physical teams, this item applies an extra layer of increased physical damage taken with all her attacks. This effect can be boosted by increases to the potency of negative effects and, more surprisingly, by the Enhanced P./M. Resistance Down trait too, which could enable Izana into a completely new build, but because of her passive and the way she works in general, this is actually less desirable on her.

Life Bangle

While equipped to a Breaker with Slash affinity, boosts own stun damage by 9 ~ 12%.

If going for more stun damage, Life Bangle is your choice. While items like Greed Ring offer a bigger boost, they only affect one of Izana’s Skills. Life Bangle affects them all equally.

Vivid Scarf

While equipped to a Breaker with Slash affinity, after attacking, reduces target’s Slash resistance by 5 ~ 7% for 2 attacks.

Working exactly as the Divinity’s Edge and Vitality Shirt items, this accessory adds even more Slash Resistance debuffs to her kit. It also stacks up to two times and is more suitable to assist Slash teams exclusively. All these items combined with a similar memoria and her own Skill 2 effect make up for an absolutely massive reduction to Slash attribute resistance of all enemies in a single cast.
It belongs to the Extra category of recipes, therefore it has a very low SSR rate and has a low base Speed stat which can be a positive or a negative thing depending on your team composition.

Main Traits

  • Physical Stun Damage Boost trait is her main source of stun damage, her primary role. This is the most ideal first trait to have for most of the content although it is not quite as needed as with other breakers. Despite this, it’s not recommended to completely neglect it so build at least one of these on her first slot of each item.
  • Yes, the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is a main trait this time around. Her high base stun power on Skill 2 drastically reduces her reliance on pure Physical Stun traits, and this strongly affects the power of her second passive skill buff and any buff type effect on her gear and buffing memoria she has equipped. This is very strong and the most ideal secondary trait to aim for almost always.

Situational Traits

  • Her niche traits are not too flexible. Physical Stun Damage Boost or Stun Damage Boost are always alternatives f the fight demands it, but this is very rare. It’s really not recommended to build double stun traits unless you really need to, because more often than not it will go to waste.
  • Like most breakers, Izana is frail and can easily die to strong AoE attacks from enemies. The All-Target Attack Resistance Up can help with this in the secondary slot, reducing the damage she takes significantly against this type of attacks. Sometimes just one of these traits is enough.
  • The Stun Damage Boost [Full] trait is as strong as the Physical Stun Damage Boost one, but it will be complete inactive while her HP is not full. This is far from ideal and should be considered as a last resort only.

Izana is an interesting and gimmicky character centered around dealing critical hits to increase potency of her stun attacks, and offering moderate offensive and control utilities.

While she can buff her own Critical Rate with Skill 1 and combo her other skills with it, the intended and most efficient way of doing this is by landing on positive panels. Regardless of what kind of positive panel it is (Boost, Critical, Recovery, Burst, etc.), this will guarantee her skill will deal a critical hit and trigger all the secondary effects from her skills and gear pieces. Not only that but the base potency of her Skill 2 will triple, increasing from an average AoE potency of 57% to a massive 171%, rivaling or even surpassing most single target stun attacks from other breakers, massively decreasing her reliance on stun related traits and gear, and enabling her to build more interesting or offensive option like the already mentioned Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait which will increase the potency of her critical damage passive buff and any other buffing gear or memoria effect she has equipped. This is the most efficient way to build her to accentuate her unique strengths and not turn her into a generic breaker.

Her Burst Skill preserves the Daze status effect from her original Bolt version, offering strong crowd control against dangerous enemies and also working as a damage boost for characters who rely on the presence of it or any status effect on the target for increased damage. This status effect is rarely fully resisted too, but keep in consideration this can happen.

Despite all of her strengths, Izana does not perform competitively well in Roman’s Tournament of any affinity, including Slash. She is a disruptive character that falls short in offensive contributions compared to characters in the same role like Totori: Hopeful Sailor, but she is best suited for general content like dungeons and other slash weak or neutral fights instead, and most importantly around any Promise & Teamwork tagged ally, granting them (and herself) the Initiative effect. This affects a lot of powerful damage dealers, including many versions of Resna, Ryza, Logy and both her own Bolt and Strike versions too. This effect opens up a lot of cool and fun strategies and it comes attached to a powerful critical damage buff as well.
