Heidi is the equivalent to Empel: The Gate Closer, but for magic teams instead. Her kit adds some new gimmicks to the table but she is essentially the same character: an attack stat booster, and because these stats cannot be increases by traits, her most desirable memorias involve some kind of increase to buff potency instead. That’s where the Wishes of Healing and Dress-Up Outing! memorias come into play, both doing exactly that but with the former having a slight edge in potency in exchange for being affinity exclusive. They both have the same Speed and defensive stats too, with 4.25% Speed matching most of Heidi’s needs and her own high base speed stat. She doesn’t need to be the fastest in the team.
More traditional supporter memorias with direct critical damage and skill damage options such as A Future Worth Fighting For and Our Masterpiece also work just fine, although her contributed offensive power will be lower, and if you need to adjust her Speed to be higher or slower, the more common It’s Time to Study! and To the Academy of Dreams! respectively, work great as always.
Sling of Happiness
While equipped to a character with Fire affinity, boosts potency of buff effects given by 9 ~ 12%.
For the same reasons mentioned in the Memoria section, increases to buff potencies are the right call for Heidi, boosting her active and passive stat buffs considerably.
Steel Staff
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.
A direct downgrade to Sling of Happiness, but a much more accessible option for beginners.
Angel Staff
While equipped to a Supporter, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 4 ~ 5% for 1 turn.
The weakest option this time around. Still functional if it comes to that.
This bonus is affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A].
Valkyrie Mail
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 9 ~ 12%.
Even better buffs! What else there is to say. This bonus will affect all the buffs, passives and gear effects she has equipped, including stat buffs. Best in slot item.
Carefree Swimsuit
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.
Better buffs! but outclassed by Valkyrie Mail.
Skuller Coat
Boosts potency of buff effects given by 6 ~ 8%.
Slightly better buffs!, but outclassed by both options above. Still one of the most serviceable items to get early in the game. This armor can be used by any character and it will last a long time, until you unlock any of the others.
Ring of Happiness
While equipped to a Supporter with Fire affinity, boosts all allies’ M. ATK by 5 ~ 6%.
This item provides a small passive boost to M.Atk stat of all allies, and it’s usually the best offensive option for most or all content. This effect is not affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A], but it can be enhanced by buff potency increases from other items and memoria to make it substantially better.
Carefree Goggles
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts all allies’ magic attack skill damage by 2 ~ 3%.
Not great, but this 0 Speed accessory can be of some use in some specific setups. The small effect is boosted by Enhanced Damage Buff [A].
Main Traits
- Enhanced Damage Buff [A] is quite literally the only trait that is potentially useful for her, and only if you plan to use her Burst Skill or equip her with a buffing memoria instead a buff potency memoria. If you stick to her Skill 2 alone, like you normally want to do, and equip her with Wishes of Healing or Dress-Up Outing!, she doesn’t need this.
Situational Traits
- As for secondary traits, the only other relevant option is All-Target Attack Resistance Up , adding extra AoE mitigation to protect her. This is not bad when using her in affinity towers that are not Fire, or for extra safety anywhere else, but completely optional.
- Heidi only works for assisting magic teams, but she has a secured spot in all of them due to the sheer power of her buffs.
- Stat buffs, when added into the mix, are normally much, much stronger than regular skill damage or critical damage buffs.
- She can easily generate boost panels for her damage dealers. This has several uses, such as assisting characters that need these panels to trigger special effects, with the clearest example being Resna: Loved Rookie, who will trigger her weapon effect and always deal critical hits when landing on one of these panels.
- This generated panel can also interact with gimmicks from characters like Ryza: Blooming Energy and Klaudia: Fragrant Elegance, who will enhance them to potentially massive amounts. Proper strategy and planning is required for this to work.
- Her Burst Skill, despite all the amazing boons it provides, is rarely worth using versus her Skill 2. This is especially true when playing alongside debuffers with short duration effects, because she can consume them. Avoid this skill unless you know what you are doing.
- Her Skill 2 can be cleverly used to increase the M.Atk of allies other than her main damage dealer. This can serve many uses, but most notably for redirecting the effects from items that target the highest M.Atk ally in the team onto certain characters, or to redirect enemy attacks that automatically target the highest M.Atk ally in the team towards an ally of your choice, normally a Defender.
- She can cast her own buffs on herself. She is a pretty decent AoE damage dealer with her Burst.
- Skill damage buffs obtained from Boost or Boost+ panels are not affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] since the buff is given by the panels themselves and not any character.
- Making Heidi slower than other panel generators like Sophie: Mighty Boss will let her exploit her first passive skill, generating an extra 10% of item gauge during her turn. This will generate the last bit of item gauge needed in turn 5 clear team composition, eliminating the need for using memorias like Feathers Fly on a Festive Day.
