Linca is a fully defensive oriented character, focused on applying magic resistance buffs on allies and inflicting magic damage reduction debuffs on enemies. While there are no way to enhanced debuffs with memoria effects yet, it is possible to enhanced her buffs with memorias like Dress-Up Outing!. This will affect both her Skill 1 and Skill 2 effects, making it ideal to protect herself and allies from heavy magic based encounters.
To increase her own survivability alone, memorias like Those Who Weave History will provide a high extra HP and M.Def stats to complement her kit. This memoria provides no effect on her and it’s just there to increase her stats, something that could be needed while she is at low stars.
Her high Speed also makes her a great candidate to equip her with Feathers Fly on a Festive Day to help her team generate more item gauge.
If you want her to assist on the offensive, memorias like Budding Girl without a Name or Our Masterpiece will add a moderate skill damage buff that she can share with her allies and boost with appropriate traits. But buffing is not the only way she has to increase her allies damage. Debuffing enemies resistances or increasing the damage they take is another way of doing so, with memorias like Playing into Her Hand, Sprinkling Magic from the Sky or The Scion of Arland. Just be mindful of their respective conditions and what type of team she is assisting.
Serene Envoy’s Blade
While equipped to a Defender, reduces damage received from single-target attacks by 5 ~ 7%.
Heavy mitigation that is active at all times but only works against single-target attacks. This is often enough considering AoE damage is balanced around non-defenders, so these attacks do minor damage to them. Solid, cheap and accessible item that can be shared among all Defenders.
Flourish Heart
While equipped to a Defender, after using a skill, restores 3 ~ 4% of own HP.
In absence of other forms of healing in her team, this could make the difference. With her high Speed and needing to use Skill 1 often, it can ramp up significantly.
Better used with appropriate recovery traits.
Edelweiss
While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ skill damage by 1 ~ 2% and stun damage by 1 ~ 2% for 1 turn.
Moderately strong offensive item, adding some extra buffs to her kit, affecting both damage and stun damage. These buffs are shared with all allies.
The first buff is affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait, but the second one is not.
Sensible Robe
While equipped to a Defender with Slash affinity, after attacking, reduces own damage received by 6 ~ 8% for 1 attack.
Massive damage reduction effect for herself granted after every actions she takes. It only lasts for 1 hit, which makes it great against strong single enemies, but it also can stack making the effect much stronger.
Kurken Sweats
While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, after using a skill, restores own HP by 4 ~ 5%.
A self sustain oriented item. Thanks to her high Speed, this armor is good at keeping Linca’s HP at higher levels against many weaker enemies, but against hard hitting bosses this doesn’t work too well.
Skuller Coat
Boosts potency of buff effects given by 6 ~ 8%.
Another piece meant to be used for AoE protection. Buffing the effect of her Skill 2, this will help protect allies against these attacks instead of enhancing her own survivability against single-target hits.
Serene Envoy’s Boots
While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, after attacking, reduces target’s damage by 3 ~ 4% for 1 turn.
This very unique gear piece will apply an extra debuff on all enemies hit by Linca’s ability, that will reduce the damage they deal with all their skills. It can be stacked too and can become very very strong when matched with the reduction from her Burst Skill.
Chronicle Mark – Slash
While equipped to a character with Slash affinity, reduces damage received by 4 ~ 5%.
A self mitigation alternative oriented to boost her own survivability instead of supporting her team.
It is unlocked very early, and it is very cheap and easy to make so it is a solid entry level item to get.
Angel Ribbon
Reduces damage received by 5 ~ 6% when own HP is at 70% or higher.
Extremely solid accessory you can unlock very early in the game. It’s extremely cheap and serviceable too. Highly recommended for beginners.
Main Traits
- The Enhanced P./M. Resistance Up trait (not to confuse with the Down version some supporters use) will more than double the potency of her Skill 2 buff, both on her and her team. It’s always the best trait to use as that’s her primary role, protecting her team against magic attacks.
- Traditional Magic Resistance Up is her second best, ideal for second slot. Linca only really excels against enemies that deal magic attacks. Trying to build her around Physical Resistance defeats the point of her being in the team.
Situational Traits
- Traditional Magic Resistance Up [Full] is also viable to use but Linca does not have any form of self sustain to keep this trait active so this will only be usable in presence of allies who can heal her often.
- The Enhanced P./M. Resistance Up [D] trait does the exact same as the normal one, with a higher potency in fact. Unfortunately, the extra bonus will only affect her and other defenders in the team so it completely defeats the purpose. It is usable, especially in defender only teams, but this is mostly a meme.
- Linca is a Defender specialized exclusively against enemies that deal magic damage. She is one of the bulkiest and strongest characters against them, and can protect her entire team immensely. She is terrible against physical damage, however, so she should be avoided against these.
- Magic type damage includes Fire, Ice, Bolt and Air damage.
- She only offers heavy damage mitigation. Nothing in her kit, excluding gear and memorias, offers any offensive value to her team.
- As of December 2024, she is the only non-Attacker Slash character with an AoE Burst ability, making her quite invaluable as a damage dealer against stages that require this, like Floor 25 of Slash Tower. (Shared in a Video below)
- She can also be a substitute for AoE Slash attackers, if you don’t have any.
- Having mitigation in both buffing and debuffing forms guarantees her excellent performance in stages that penalize either of them.
- Despite being a 1 star unit and her stats being really bad in that initial state, she can be raised to 5 stars like any other character, at which point her stats will be equal or even better than others.
- For beginners or players just starting to climb Slash Tower, she is absolutely indispensable. Much of the damage dealt by enemies there has been balanced with her in consideration, unless of course you are grossly overgeared and overleveled, or if you have more modern units that can replace her.
