Ayesha is a purely defensive tank with some team support in the form of damage immunity. Bolt defenders, unfortunately, don’t have any memorias that match this type of kit. The only thing Ayesha can do is try and become bulkier or faster depending on what she needs, while trying to assist her teams offensively with the plenty of choices that exist for that.
Skill damage buffing memorias combined with the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait in all her gear pieces will turn her into a semi buffer at expenses of her own survivability.
There are several alternatives for this task, with Profuse Blows being the most balanced one as it also makes Ayesha a lot tankier. The effect itself is weaker in comparison, but against many enemies this buff can ramp up to be equal or stronger than others.
Other choices include Budding Girl without a Name, Our Masterpiece and To the Academy of Dreams!, each of them with different stats and accessibility. These 3 memorias don’t provide as many defensive stats but their effects are active at all times.
If you need her to be faster, It’s Time to Study! or The True Feelings You Can’t See are the ideal choices with the highest defensive stats, but providing no effect at all. There is relevant effect alternative to this high Speed, for now.
Another common choice among slow defenders like Ayesha is Nothing to Fear with Friends, a memoria that will increase your initial item gauge massively, without her needing to act.
Serene Envoy’s Blade
While equipped to a Defender, reduces damage received from single-target attacks by 5 ~ 7%.
Heavy mitigation that is active at all times but only works against single-target attacks. This is often enough considering AoE damage is balanced around non-defenders, so these attacks do minor damage to them. Solid, cheap and accessible item that can be shared among all Defenders.
Fortune’s Light
Reduces damage received by 5 ~ 6% when own HP is at 70% or higher.
A more effective option against all type of attacks, including AoEs. It has an HP limit to be effective, which is normally not much of a problem with the right traits.
Fragrant Staff
While equipped to a Defender with Bolt affinity, after using a skill, reduces all allies’ damage received from attacks that target all allies by 3 ~ 4% for 1 attack.
A team oriented mitigation tool. It provides moderate damage reduction to all allies against AoE attacks, but it requires her to act which is something she won’t be doing often.
Herbal Shirt
When hit by an attack, restores 2 ~ 3% of max HP.
Absurdly strong piece of armor oriented to infinitely sustain hits. This heal will also be affected by recovery traits such as Recovery Boost [D], making it much stronger, and will be active from the start of the fight, not needing any action and not having any duration.
Magic Plate
While equipped to a character with Bolt affinity, at the start of battle, boosts own max HP by 4 ~ 5%.
Decent alternative to Herbal Shirt. It won’t help her self sustain, but it will very slightly increase the threshold of damage to make herself immune to attacks.
Sloth Ring
While equipped to a Defender with Bolt affinity, after attacking, restores own HP by 0–7% depending on current HP. (Higher boost for lower HP, range: 100–25% HP)
A sustain oriented accessory. It does not increase her tankiness but heals her for an additional amount every time she acts.
The real reason to use this accessory over the others is the Speed granted by it that she badly needs, which no other relevant accessory provides.
King of Thunder Ring
While equipped to a character with Bolt affinity, reduces damage received by 4 ~ 5%.
Very basic but very strong and well balanced accessory, providing unconditional damage mitigation, decent Speed and decent HP. It is very cheap and easy to unlock too.
Medical Earring
While equipped to a Defender with Bolt affinity, at the start of battle, reduces all allies’ damage received by 2 ~ 3% for 3 attacks.
To slightly increase her teams’ survivability. It only lasts for a limited amount of hits so it’s not great in longer fights. The effect is small too.
Angel Ribbon
Reduces damage received by 5 ~ 6% when own HP is at 70% or higher.
Extremely solid accessory that matches greatly with her self sustaining kit. This is one of the earliest items you can unlock in the game. It’s extremely cheap and serviceable too. Highly recommended for beginners.
Main Traits
- Recovery Boost [D] is her most important trait, massively boosting the potency of her heals on herself. This alone can seriously boost her self sustain and but her enough time to renew her skill effects.
Highly recommended to have at least 3x of these. All 6 is possible if you have Lydie: Witch of Rose.
Situational Traits
- Her second trait slot is open for a lot options. Let’s check them out:
- Single Recovery Boost and Recovery Boost are both a direct downgrade to Recovery Boost [D]. They do exactly the same, but with reduced potency total. It is acceptable to get these.
- For extra mitigation, the Magic Resistance Up [Full] and Physical Resistance Up [Full] traits are insanely strong when matched with her own passive healing. She can sustain these conditions with it and enough healing traits.
- Enhanced Damage Buff [A] will only upgrade the effects of certain offensive related memorias. Normally this is not needed for Ayesha to hold and play around so personally I would advice against this, but the possibility is there if you want to try it.
- The main gimmick of her kit is very divisive among players. What it does is provide a shield to herself and/or allies that will completely block the damage from attacks that would normally deal damage equal or below the value of the shield. This sounds strong but the problem relies on Ayesha not having any form of damage reduction, so this shield generally only protects against very weak attacks.
- If the damage of the enemy attack is higher than the value of the shield, the shield will do nothing and will still be consumed.
- Her passive healing is insanely strong, perhaps the strongest in the game, but only applies on herself. She can take a lot of punishment without flinching or needing to act.
- Her shield mechanics are meant to be played with allies that can reduce the initial damage dealt by the attacks, so she can block them. Allies like Nio: Charming Sister, Ayesha: Twilight Fairy or Judie: Hero of Tempest will all synergize incredibly well with her.
- She has high HP and well balanced defenses against all types of damage, but she is very slow.
