Despite being an SR rarity memoria, The Tales We Weave is one of Corneria’s strongest offensive choices when playing around Strike affinity teams, adding an extra layer of Strike Resistance down to all her already existing ones, all of which will boost the damage of all follow-up attacks from allies in subsequent hits. This not only has ability to boost regular damage but also stun damage form allies or herself.
This memoria requires the target to be weak to Strike, which Cory cannot achieve for herself in the same turn she casts the skills, so keep this in mind.
The low Speed of this memoria does not represent any issue thanks to her high base Speed.
The Sprinkling Magic from the Sky is also viable, increasing the damage the targets take, it will reduce their Strike, Stab and Slash Resistances on hit. This memoria has a weaker effect however, but has no weakness conditions and has a higher Speed.
If stun power is what you are after, her strongest choice is the Overcoming Despair memoria which offers one the highest stun damage potencies in her arsenal and very high Speed but is also reliant on rank. More accessible memorias such as A Continuation of That Summer and Watching Fireworks can work as more budget alternatives in certain situations, sometimes with great results but with attached conditions or durations.
Cory can act as a damage dealer as well, especially in heavy AoE oriented fights Strike affinity does not have any specialized Attacker with AoE attacks. Gearing her up for this will make Stand Against the Apexi! the most ideal choice on her.
Force Macht Power
While equipped to a Breaker with Strike affinity, after attacking, boosts target’s damage received by 9 ~ 12% for 1 attack.
Powerful effect that massively boosts the damage taken by the target of all attacks. It only lasts for 1 hit but requires no conditions.
Beginner’s Sling
While equipped to a Breaker with Strike affinity, boosts stun damage by 12 ~ 17% when attacking a weakness.
Stun oriented weapon. Normally used for the very rare cases she cannot one shot dangerous enemies that counterattack, with the outcome of it strongly relying on that happening, like Strike Tournament.
Beloved Sword
While equipped to a Breaker, boosts stun damage by 8 ~ 11% when attacking a weakness.
Bit weaker stun effect but viable and cheap to make. Only truly reliable against enemies that are naturally weak to Strike.
Steel Bow
While equipped to a Breaker, boosts stun damage by 6 ~ 8%.
This weapon provides a slight boost to stun damage and has no special conditions required. It’s cheap to make and unlocked very early in the game, making it ideal for beginners without access to anything above.
Layered Velvet – Strike
While equipped to a character with Strike affinity, after attacking, boosts enemy’s damage received by 4 ~ 5% for 2 attacks.
The most universal armor pick that works to assist any team. If assisting Strike teams, this armor may or may not perform worse than Raisonnement depending on the general presence of this same debuff, and the total strike resistance down the enemy has. Pick to balance out both effects.
This armor does not need enemies to broken and can stack up to twice.
Raisonnement
When attack target is stunned, reduces target’s Strike resistance by 5 ~ 7% for 2 attacks.
Only when assisting Strike teams, this effect exchanges the damage taken debuff for a strike resistance debuff. They are both good, but balancing both effects is ideal.
This item requires to stun the target to apply the effect over them.
Temperance Robe
While equipped to a character with Strike affinity, boosts stun damage by 9 ~ 12%.
This armor is a moderate increase to stun potencies for all her skills. It’s an ok item if you are lacking a bit of breaking power.
Hard Coat
Boosts physical stun damage by 6%.
This armor provides a small boost to physical stun damage. It’s one of the first recipes to be unlocked in the game making it extremely accessible and cheap, which works great as a placeholder item in the early stages while you unlock more suitable pieces.
Spirit Beast’s Tail
While equipped to a character with Strike affinity, when attack target is stunned, boosts skill damage of the ally with the highest P. ATK by 13 ~ 19% for 1 turn.
This effect grants a powerful 1 turn buff on Cory’s main damage dealer if she successfully stuns an enemy. If having multiple turns before that ally, she can stun multiple enemies to grant this effect multiple times too. (Max 1 per turn)
It has great Speed stat and is generally the preferred accessory for offense when assisting any kind of team although it could be weaker than Gauntlets when playing around Strike teams.
This effect works on magic damage dealers as well, but it will be aimed at the character with highest P.Atk in the team so be careful of adjusting that before Cory ends up aiming this towards herself.
Eldritch Ring: Strike
While equipped to a Breaker with Strike affinity, boosts stun damage by 9 ~ 12%.
Moderate stun effect on a moderate accessory with moderate Speed. It’s good if you need extra stun power on her Burst.
Unlike other similar breakers, Cory actually benefits from this item a whole lot.
Dien Talon
While equipped to a character with Strike affinity, boosts single-target attack stun damage by 13 ~ 18%.
Massive stun effect on a high Speed accessory. It does not affect her Burst, so be careful.
Gauntlets
When attack target is stunned, reduces target’s Strike resistance by 10 ~ 14% for 1 attack.
When assisting Strike teams exclusively, this is the most powerful effect she can inflict on enemies, offensively. It only lasts 1 attack directly after successfully stunning an enemy, so it needs to be rightly timed. This accessory has low Speed, but speedy Cory doesn’t have problems adjusting to that.
Main Traits
- Physical Stun Damage Boost trait is her main source of stun damage, her primary role, and the easiest trait to get too. This is a key component for her to fulfill her job as breaker. Her kit does not include debuffs that rely on other weakening traits so she is free to build as many stun oriented as she can use, to leave the gear effects themselves open for offense instead.
- Stun Damage Up on Weakness is a more recent trait that’s even better but only works against enemies weak to Strike. Personally, I’d only stick to generic Physical Stun so she can play equally well with other teams too.
Situational Traits
- Additional Physical Stun Damage Boost in all 6 trait slots is always good to have, but more niche builds also exist:
- The Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is pretty ok to have when paired with items like Spirit Beast’s Tail and memorias like Our Masterpiece and To the Academy of Dreams!. This will reduce her breaking potential considerably but, if the fight allows it, this can be a drastic boost to ally offensive power.
- Enhanced P./M. Resistance Down, as of December 2024, currently has no effect on her at all. However, in the future a new weapon relevant to her called Hammer of Judgement will let her increase her targets physical damage taken, making this trait viable.
- Cory is a very speedy and strong pure breaker with some powerful Strike Resistance reduction debuffs. While she excels playing with Strike teams, she is extremely capable around any affinity especially early and mid game.
- Speaking of early game, she is available to be chosen with Spark of Memories very early on. In my opinion she is strongest breaker in the original cast of characters, far surpassing other staple early choices.
- Her Skill 1 is a ridiculous setup tool to prepare a stronger follow Burst. It will add tremendous value when you combine these 2 skills in succession.
- Her AoE Burst is a rarity in the Strike affinity and can be used as a damage dealing tool in certain floors of this Tower that penalize single target damage or Attackers.
- She has very high physical and magic defense stats, but her HP is extremely low. Among the lowest in the whole game in fact, so she will need some protection.
- I strongly recommend everybody to include Corneria in your Pieces Quest team and max awakening her as soon as you get her. Her Synthesis Gift is one of the most valuable for both beginners and veterans, providing another source of Skill Power Up and being the only character capable of using the Summertime Shell material to its fullest potential, making some of the strongest damage dealer gear in the game with the help of Marie: Violent Beauty.
