The Promise of a Return memoria is the best memoria to equip her with, uncontested. The extra stats and powerful effect on top of its low Speed match greatly with her own kit, reducing the amount of actions she takes slightly but make all of them much more impactful. The Kitty Cuteness Overload! is weaker, offering less M.Atk and lower critical damage by comparison, but offering more Speed, something that Eren doesn’t quite need. It’s a powerful memoria nonetheless.
Both these memorias benefit tremendously from the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait built on Eren.
Less attractive choices but still good enough are Endless Discoveries and A Time Just for Two, both providing basic skill damage buffs but with the former not having any conditions attached, and the latter being much more easily accessible. Both share the same potencies at the end. The Further Still! is a last choice among these, providing the same effect potency, less M.Atk but much much higher Speed. Eren does not need more Speed, unfortunately, but the option is there.
For starters or players with no access to anything of the above, always prioritize equipping a 31.25% M.Atk memoria regardless of its effect. If you still don’t have any of these, the SR rarity Following in Your Footsteps memoria is a great starting option. with moderately high M.Atk and a small boost to magic skill damage.
Crystal Rod
While equipped to an Attacker, boosts potency of buff effects received by 11 ~ 15%.
Despite having a lower base M.Atk stat than other weapons, the sheer amount of extra buffs you can gain from all team members, battle items and all effects combined thanks to its effect will vastly outperform MOST other weapons. Unlike essentially the entire roster of attackers, this is weaker than a fully boosted Resilient New Students’ Staff effect.
Tome of Answers: Air
While equipped to an Attacker with Air affinity, boosts single-target attack skill damage by 15 ~ 21%.
Big boost to M.Atk and skill damage affecting all her Skills, unconditionally. It will require either critical damage traits or memoria to balance out the total bonuses. If you have them this is very strong.
Resilient New Students’ Staff
While equipped to a character with Air affinity, when using boost-type panels, boosts own critical damage by 25 ~ 36% for 1 turn.
This effect has no cap, is affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait and buff received potencies, and also can stack if activating two panels in a single turn. All this considered, this item can provide from a not small 36% to more than 200% critical damage depending on the number factors mentioned in play. The downside of this item on Eren is that, due to her high action frequency, landing on these panels will take careful planning or specific allies in the team.
Lofty Longsword
Boosts skill damage by 12 ~ 17% when attacking a target’s Air weakness.
Big boost to M.Atk and skill damage, but only against enemies weak to Air, which is usually enabled by her allies. This weapon is decently strong, but completely outclassed by both items above.
Spirit Staff – Air
While equipped to a character with Air affinity, boosts skill damage by 7 ~ 10%.
The most budget possible alternative for beginners, offering a moderate skill damage boost without conditions. It’s very cheap and easy to unlock but should be replaced as soon as possible.
Colorless Robe
While equipped to an Attacker with Air affinity, boosts potency of buff effects received by 16 ~ 23%.
Hands down the strongest piece of gear Eren can wear. This armor will not only boost her own M.Atk and Speed self buffs but everything she receives, from battle item buffs, memoria effects, party members’ buffs, her own passives and, even the effect from gear pieces. It’s also not expensive to make and unlocked only in chapter 8 of the main story, so there is no reason not to use one.
Silver Thread Armor
Boosts potency of buff effects received by 9 ~ 12%.
A direct downgrade from Colorless Robe. It’s much weaker and much, much harder to craft because it’s an Extra category recipe. Aside from that one armor, it’s still stronger than anything else she can equip, which is a testament to the power of increases to buffs received.
Light Vest
While equipped to an Attacker or Breaker, boosts M. ATK by 6 ~ 8%.
Stat boosts are much stronger than skill damage or critical boosts, but they have fallen slightly out of favor because of buff potency pieces. This is still a solid piece of gear, but use it as a last alternative only.
Origin Necklace: Air
While equipped to an Attacker with Air affinity, boosts burst skill damage by 17 ~ 25%.
The biggest boost Eren can get, but only for her Burst Skill. This is almost always the desired outcome, as her role intends her to look for these panels for maximum output.
Lofty Pocket Mirror
While equipped to an Attacker with Air affinity, boosts skill damage by 5 ~ 7% when using panels. (MAX 35%)
This accessory has an intended slow start, permanently increasing in power as the wearer lands on boost-type panels. The effect itself is boosted by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait so it doubles the effect gained per panel with just 2x traits, going from 7 to 14% per activation. When using double panels, on top of all boosts to buffs received and other factors, she can cap this effect in essentially only 2 panel activations.
Blue Puni Charm
While equipped to a character with Air affinity, boosts own skill damage by 13 ~ 18% when own HP is 70% or higher.
Another very powerful accessory, potentially offering slightly more damage than Lofty Pocket Mirror, but with an HP condition attached which is not always possible to keep up. It’s a trade-off of a marginal power gain versus comfort.
This item belongs to the Extra category of recipes, making it very hard to get as an SSR rarity item.
Main Traits
- Skill Power Up is Eren’s main trait, massively boosting the base potency of her skills.
- Single Attack Power Up is essentially the same as Skill Power Up. It affects all her skills but it’s also harder or impossible to match with other traits in the secondary slot.
- Burst Skill Power Up is a massive boost to the damage of this skill alone, in detriment of the rest. When planning to abuse this skill, this is always ideal to use but for less involved play, like auto mode, it’s not recommended.
- Ideally you should get at at least 4 of these traits, in any combination, across her 6 trait slots, for a total of 100% Skill Power. Going above this will reduce the effective value of the trait, but going below will be a much more drastic drop in damage. In general, you almost never want less than 100%. The missing 2 slots will be picked from the list below.
Situational Traits
- The Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is by far her strongest choice, but this is ONLY if you have access to a high ranked critical damage memoria like Kitty Cuteness Overload! or Promise of a Return. 2x of this trait will double the critical damage given by this memoria and double the effects of items like Tome of Answers: Air and Origin Necklace: Air. Picking this trait, regardless, depends almost exclusively on her memoria equipped.
- Critical Damage Up is the most basic and most functional secondary trait to build. It works great in any conditions and doesn’t require much min maxing or thought. You only want a maximum of 2x of these.
- With a low wait time Skill 2 and high base Speed, Eren is almost guaranteed to always take the first turn in any fight.
- Her Skill 1 and Burst Skill also have low wait times so she will act extremely often during a fight, sometimes 2 or even 3 times in a row.
- Her Skill 1 has a massive setup self buff. This buff is boosted by all buff potency effects on her gear and also by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait, so it can reach nearly a 100% skill damage buff on her next turn with a very fast skill. Setting up Bursts with this skill while looking for panels, is critical to her correct performance.
- All her skill potencies are lower than average to compensate for her action speed and setup tools.
- The M.Atk boost from her Burst Skill can be stacked up to 3 times if used in succession, and with the help of buff potency effects, reach over a 100% M.Atk total.
- The M.Atk from her passive can also reach up to a 100% total, but this boost lasts permanently. Both boosts can be stacked for insane stat totals.
- The M.Atk boost triggered by her passive when activating panels also triggers when landing on negative panels, or Burst panels. Since her secondary passive makes her completely immune to negative panels, it’s perfectly fine to use this in your favor.
- Any healing received by Eren will also stack her passive once, regardless of the amount recovered.
- Eren is more suited for medium to long fights, where she has time to navigate a timeline and ramp up her damage to finally start unleashing chained bursts. She has a very weak start compared to other damage dealers who thrive in shorter fights.
- It is very hard to stack many debuffs on enemies when she is around due to her high action frequency. As a result, her damage numbers will rarely look as impressive as slow damage dealers that hit harder but less often, but the damage per action ratio should be similar.
