Resna can be played both as a full supporting character or as a main damage dealer.
As a support, all the traditional buffing memorias can be used, including A Future Worth Fighting ForIt’s Time to Study! The True Feelings You Can’t SeeOur MasterpieceTo the Academy of Dreams! and more. Given how fast she naturally is, she is better fit to use lower Speed memorias in most situations, in order to save faster ones for slower allies.

As a damage dealer, it’s important to remember she is not an Attacker, so many Attacker locked memorias will not work on her, but memorias like Dressed for Success and Under the Summer Sky, with You will, each increasing her critical damage and skill damage respectively. Remember to balance these stats out with her own gear traits, depending on what you equip, to not end up with any excess.
Other more accessible memorias are also great for the damage dealer role, like A Time Just for Two who is in essence just as strong as the ones above but with an HP condition.
And for super budget picks, something most players will get fast into their playthroughs is Walking the Lands of Dusk, a quite powerful SR rarity memoria with great stats and effect. Do not ignore this if you are just starting!

Astra Skoúpa

While equipped to a Supporter, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ Bolt damage by 4 ~ 5% for 1 turn.

Her main damage dealing choice and also her best supporting choice when supporting Bolt teams.
This weapon is Resna’s only real damage dealing item, with 95 base M.Atk and an effect that actually helps her. All other 95 M.Atk weapons do not provide her any effect.
Additionally, this weapon excels at supporting Bolt characters like Izana: Return of the Knight and Valeria: Radiant Summer, both of which have extremely high critical damage values. In these cases, and partially thanks to her own buffs, Astra Skoúpa is stronger than Angel Staff.

Angel Staff

While equipped to a Supporter, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 4 ~ 5% for 1 turn.

One of the most versatile weapons in the game, this weapon works great with her high Speed. While not necessarily stronger than similar bonuses from other weapons, critical damage is normally a more desirable buff to provide to allies via item effects to balance out the much more common sources of skill damage across teams.

Spirit Staff – Bolt

While equipped to a character with Bolt affinity, boosts skill damage by 7 ~ 10%.

Decent early game alternative for damage dealing. It gives her an effect, but it has low M.Atk so it’s slightly weaker.
Great for beginners.

Steel Staff

While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.

Ideal weapon to boost the value of her critical rate buff. This weapon is used in some tournament related cleared where she will cast her Skill 2 once or twice just to cap her crit buff and then die, improving its potency.

Silver Thread Armor

Boosts potency of buff effects received by 9 ~ 12%.

Not to confuse with buff effects given, this armor is her primary and almost only choice when played as a damage dealer. Very strong.

Thunder Armor

While equipped to a character with Bolt affinity, after attacking, boosts enemy’s damage received by 4 ~ 5% for 2 attacks.

Pretty self explanatory. This armor adds an extra effect to all her attacks. Yes, they apply on all enemies attacked at the same time. It’s the highest damage boost she can provide to other allies among all armors in most situations.
It can be unlocked early and it is very cheap to make.

Crimson Leather Armor

While equipped to a Supporter with Bolt affinity, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ skill damage by 2 ~ 3% for 1 turn.

This armor will apply a small skill damage boost to all allies every time she acts. This makes the effect stackable thanks to her high Speed, especially when assisting slower allies. While small, it can be boosted by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait so it is not as weak as it looks.

Yukata of Warmth

While equipped to a Supporter, boosts all allies’ magic attack skill damage by 2 ~ 3%.

This armor adds a permanent passive boost to the magic skill damage of all allies. While small, it also can be boosted by Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait so it is not as weak as it looks. It’s an event exclusive recipe.

Phantom Armor Schwarz

While equipped to a Supporter with Bolt affinity, boosts potency of buff effects given by 13 ~ 18%.

Massive boost to all her buffs, including Burst, but most importantly her critical rate buff. It will boost all buffs given by her, including memoria and gear effects too.

Carefree Swimsuit

While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.

Drastic downgrade to Phantom Armor Schwarz, but easier and cheaper to craft.

Skuller Coat

Boosts potency of buff effects given by 6 ~ 8%.

Even more of a downgrade to Phantom Armor Schwarz, but even easier and cheaper to craft. Unlocked very early so it’s ideal for beginners.

Memoria Bracelet

While equipped to a character with Bolt affinity, boosts critical damage by 14 ~ 20%.

Best item to equip when playing as a damage dealer. Strong boost affecting all her skills and also high speed. It’s the only relevant accessory that will provide her an effect in this role.

Spirit Belt

While equipped to a Supporter with Bolt affinity, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 5 ~ 7%.

The best accessory she can equip when playing as a support. Offers a large passive boost to all allies critical damage, enhanced by the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait. This effect is permanent and active at all times while she is in the fight, even if she is dead.
This recipe is not locked but it’s gated by the Chapter 14 of main story progression so it’s not quite as accessible for newer players.

Element Guard

While equipped to a Supporter with Bolt affinity, boosts potency of buff effects given by 11 ~ 15%.

Decent alternative but much less desirable compared to Spirit Belt. It is great to boost her critical rate buff permanently, reducing the total number of casts needed to fully cap the effect. This is ideal for scenarios where she wants to buff and die to open up more turns for more important allies in tournament.

Main Traits

As a damage dealer:

  • With her Burst Skill being her main source of damage, Burst Skill Power Up is always the preferred choice over regular Skill Power Up. If you can’t get it, then regular versions are good enough as well.
All-Target Attack Power Up is essentially the same as Skill Power Up on Resna since all her main skills are AoE, so it’s also good enough to get this.
  • Never use Enhanced Damage Buff [A] when playing as a damage dealer!. It will not affect her in the slightest.

As a support:

  • Enhanced Damage Buff [A] is her most important trait when supporting attackers. All her critical damage buffs, memoria effects and gear effects will be boosted by this. Her critical rate buff is NOT affected.
Always look to have these traits at rank V, as even a rank IV is a massive loss.

Situational Traits

As a damage dealer:

  • Critical Damage Up is a good secondary choice if using memorias that increase skill damage, and less attractive if using Dressed for Success. Always balance her critical damage out respective to how many Skill Power and Skill Damage sources she has. Do not overdo any of them.

As a support:

  • All Recovery Boost will enhance the potency of her heal on Skill 1. It’s a minuscule improvement and absolutely not necessary.
  • All-Target Attack Resistance Up will make her more resistant to all forms of AoE damage, something that could be valuable when playing her in affinity towers that are not Bolt.
  • Resna is a strange supporter character that actually excels as a damage dealer too. She is a tremendous asset for starting players and one of the most versatile characters to use at the beginning and all the way until mid game.
  • She can deal high damage with guaranteed critical hits, while also being extremely fast so not only she is strong she is also very comfortable and easy to play.
  • She is perfect to tackle Bolt Tower if you don’t have the primary Bolt attackers for it.
  • As a damage dealer her itemization is not strong, unfortunately. As a support, it is.
  • With enough buff potency given items, it’s possible to cap her critical rate buff in 3 casts instead of 4. Because this is a permanent buff, it’s a common strategy in Roman’s Tournament to let her die as all her effect will remain active, and that will allow more important allies to take more actions.
  • Unlike other skills in the game, Resna’s Burst Skill is actually a guaranteed critical hit and not a buff. It will not be impaired by reductions to buff potencies.
  • She is a fantastic Critical Finish synth character in the early game.
  • She can be selected for free at the start of the game by completing simple missions. In my opinion, it’s highly recommended that you do.
