Stun related memorias include two of the most recent and rare ones. Dive into Competition! is the strongest of the two, but only works against enemies weak to Ice. This can easily be achieved with his own own two main skills that will almost certainly create this weakness even against enemies resistant to Ice, thanks to his powerful Ice Resistance debuffs before attacking.
The alternative is Shadows in the Moonlight, a very slightly weaker memoria that has no special conditions and works better when fighting enemies with high Ice Resistance.
If not aiming to stun enemies, or for very short fights that don’t require it, the most ideal choice is Welcome to the Party!. This unique memoria provides a support-level buff without the need to be equipped on a support, enabling Roman to use it. This bonus can be increased by the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait, which is genuinely a very strong choice on him if you have this memoria ranked up.
More accessible memorias include A Continuation of That Summer and Watching Fireworks , the former being completely free and also requiring weakness. The latter instead provides potentially the strongest stun boost of all memorias at high rank, but the effect only works for 2 turns before disappearing and comes with an above average Speed stat.
Additionally, the The Scion of Arland memoria is very strong debuff addition to his kit, requiring an Ice weakness which he can easily create for himself most of the times. The downside of this pick is its negligible Speed stat.

Glacie
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts potency of inflicted negative effects by 11 ~ 15%.
Roman’s top offensive choice right now, massively boosting the potency of all his different debuffs and related item effects. This affects both his magic damage taken and ice resistance debuffs.

Shoreline Flute
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts stun damage of attack that target all enemies by 11 ~ 16%.
Top stun related but ONLY when using his Skill 2. It’s event exclusive and cheap to make.

Krýa Skoúpa
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts single-target attack stun damage by 15 ~ 21%.
The opposite of Shoreline Flute, this stun related item only affects his Burst Skill, massively increasing its stun power. This skill has his highest offense contributions so it’s usually the skill to focus on for competitive content like Roman’s Tournament.

Krieger’s Talon
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts stun damage by 9 ~ 12%.
Another Stun related item only, and quite strong for how cheap and easy to unlock it is. Perhaps the most budget friendly alternative you can get early in the game that will scale well later on and affects all of his skills equally.

Frost Armor
While equipped to a character with Ice affinity, after attacking, boosts enemy’s damage received by 4 ~ 5% for 2 attacks.
Unlocked early and easy to make, this armor regularly but only slightly outclasses Shoreline Swimsuit, sometimes both coming very close together. This effect is not affected by Enhanced P./M. Resistance Down but it is affected by boosts to potencies of negative effects.

Shoreline Swimsuit
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts potency of inflicted negative effects by 11 ~ 15%.
Offensive oriented armor that will boost the potency of all his negative effects, including effects from memorias, or his magic received and ice resistance debuffs. It’s one his most desired pieces of armor, but also event locked. An early game alternative to this is Hero Armor, which is weaker but accessible at all times from a Revival event. This armor is better when used with his Burst Skill, and actually very close to Frost Armor for anything else, and its performance will depend on the rest of his gear too.

Phantom Armor Lawine
While equipped to a character with Ice affinity, after attacking with a single-target attack, reduces target’s Ice resistance by 7 ~ 10% for 2 attacks.
Highest offensive power among his options, directly reducing an extra amount of Ice Resistance from the enemy attacked exclusively by his Burst Skill. This effect will not work with his Skill 2.
This bonus is affected by the Enhanced Resistance Down [Ice] trait.

Vagabond’s Clothing
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts stun damage by 12 ~ 17% when attacking a weakness.
Strongest stun related piece armor, but with a weakness condition. It’s not too expensive to make but it is locked behind quite a lot of main story progression.

Heated Bangle
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, after attacking, reduces target’s Ice resistance by 5 ~ 7% for 2 attacks.
Very strong damage boost to follow-up attacks, but restricted only for Ice affinity allies. This item does not require him to stun an enemy and is the easiest accessory to play around for general content and his Skill 2. It’s also easy and cheap to make.

Clear Bangle
While equipped to a character with Ice affinity, when attack target is stunned, boosts skill damage of the ally with the highest M. ATK by 13 ~ 19% for 1 turn.
Offensive item oriented towards buffing a single ally after successfully stunning a target. This is the biggest boost he can provide if he is equipped with Enhanced Damage Buff [A] traits. To achieve this easily, you should always focus on combining this with his Burst Skill, as his Skill 2 will lack the power necessary to trigger it.

Lust Ring
While equipped to a Breaker with Ice affinity, boosts single-target attack stun damage by 15 ~ 21%.
Another Stun related gear piece, and the strongest in the list by far. With high Speed on top of an unparalleled stun damage bonus for his Burst Skill alone, this item is unbeatable when it comes to stunning enemies.
This item is also locked behind Ice Tower progression so beginners could have a rougher time unlocking it.

Shoreline Sunglasses
While equipped to a character with Ice affinity, when attack target is stunned, boosts all allies’ M. ATK by 4 ~ 5% for 1 turn.
Offensive item oriented towards buffing a single ally after successfully stunning a target. This boost at a base level is weaker than Clear Bangle but does not require Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait to work well. It also requires a stunned enemy, which is often easy to achieve using his Burst Skill.
Main Traits
- Enhanced P./M. Resistance Down is his most important trait, dramatically increasing the potency of his magic damage taken debuffs on his Burst Skill and passive. This trait is almost worthless at rank IV and should always strive to get it as V rank, even in detriment of the secondary trait. The difference between both ranks is massive.
- In order to trigger the second layer of debuffs in his kit, he must stun enemies. Magic Stun Damage Boost traits are, therefore, a core part of his kit and should not be completely neglected unless you know exactly what you are doing and what enemy you are facing.
- Additionally, the recently released Stun Damage Up on Weakness trait is a stronger alternative to the one mentioned above, that only works when hitting enemies weak to Ice. Luckily, Roman can easily create this weakness for himself. The combinations of these 2 traits is currently unachievable, but it will be achievable soon with the release of Magda: Pinkish Destroyer.

Situational Traits
- His second trait slot should only replace Magic Stun Damage Boost in case you don’t need to stun enemies or if you are unable to do it. Never replace Enhanced P./M. Resistance Down.
- The recently introduce Enhanced Resistance Down [Ice] trait is the primary alternative to stun related traits in the 2nd slot, almost doubling the potency of these debuffs, including those from gear pieces like Phantom Armor Lawine when 3x of these traits are present. It’s extremely strong and since both of his skills apply this debuff before his own hit, it also partially affects his own stun damage in the process.
- The Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is the secondary option this time around, to enhance the skill damage provided by the powerful Welcome to the Party! memoria, if you have it, and Clear Bangle. This is best used when accompanied by another breaker as he will have a hard time stunning enemies by himself if using this and his main trait together, but with the high potency of his Burst Skill it can still work when unboosted.
- The Stun Damage Boost trait is a direct downgrade to Magic Stun Damage Boost. It’s not great, but it does something.
- Roman works well with any magic team, even those from Fire, Air and Bolt affinities, even more so that his counter part Lila: Jet Black Bodyguard, but he was especially designed to support Ice affinity allies, with whom he has great synergy with his own Leader Skill and skill effects.
- The Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is a luxury trait. Combining this trait with Enhanced P./M. Resistance Up can be a titanic task and will seriously impact his breaking power as a result but maximize his buffing and debuffing roles instead. He still has a high base potency Burst Skill that can ditch serious stun damage even with no help from stun traits.
- His second passive skill reinforces this, massively boosting his stun damage for 1 turn when landing on a positive panel of any kind, including Burst panels. If using battle items on his own turn, he can activate this effect twice for a tremendous 60% stun damage which is equivalent to 3 whole V rank Magic Stun Damage Boost traits.
- Obviously, this makes him play greatly around panel generating characters and battle items.
- His own Skill 1 also helps with this, providing him with two separate effects. The first one is a permanent stun damage scaling up to 20% after 2 uses, and the second one is another 20% stun damage that only lasts for the next turn and cannot be scaled. This makes up for an up to 40% stun damage setup tool which will greatly improve his other skills’ breaking power.
- Enhanced P./M. Resistance Up is 99% of the times the right call over the Enhanced Resistance Down [Ice] trait. While both work well with his kit, the former is much more powerful and helps with all magic teams instead of just Ice.
- Roman is the preferred Ice Breaker for Ice exclusive Roman’s Tournament. With a powerful offensive oriented single target Burst Skill, he is better at this specific job than both Klaudia: Moonlit Beach and Lila: Jet Black Bodyguard.
- His Skill 2 will apply a Panel Disabled effect on all enemies. Be careful of this as it will also disable negative panels on them.
- His Synthesis Gift is very useful. With the right color end of his gift, he can use the unique Summertime Tree material, the only only one that can pass the Enhanced Resistance Down [Ice] trait to gear. He is the only character who can do this without compromising his own valuable Magic Stun Damage Boost trait.
