As a critical rate buffer, buffing allies’ critical damage is her primary choice. With a high base Speed and no special turn order requirement to fulfill, she is a solid candidate to use the powerful but relatively slow A Future Worth Fighting , perhaps one of the strongest supporting memorias currently in the roster. Similarly, Our Masterpiece also has the same stats, but boosts skill damage instead.
If you need her to be faster, as always It’s Time to Study! and The True Feelings You Can’t See are your alternatives for traditional skill damage and burst skill damage respectively.
On the contrary, if you need her to be slower To the Academy of Dreams! is a strong and accessible choice.
Due to the nature of her kit, Rorona regularly acts a finishing setup tool for another damage dealer. This means her main critical rate buff will often only be needed for a final big attack instead of having to reuse it many times during the fight. This opens up her early turns to spam her Skill 1 more freely, allowing her to build item gauge for double stacking setups. For this, a very strong memoria that you can equip on her is Feathers Fly on a Festive Day, increasing the item gauge she generates every turn. Making this work properly will require proper player control and strategy.
Angel Staff
While equipped to a Supporter, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 4 ~ 5% for 1 turn.
One of the most versatile weapons in the game, this weapon is perfect to her kit. While not necessarily stronger than similar bonuses from other weapons, critical damage is currently a more desirable buff to provide to allies via item effects to balance out the much more common sources of skill damage across teams. This bonus is affected by Enhanced Damage Buff [A].
Rugged Sword
While equipped to a Supporter with Slash affinity, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ physical attack skill damage by 5 ~ 6% for 1 turn.
Working very similar to the Angel Staff, this weapon swaps critical damage for skill damage instead, but only works with physical teams. It’s stackable.
Wyrmsoul
While equipped to a Supporter with Slash affinity, boosts all allies’ physical attack skill damage by 4 ~ 5%.
Weaker boost of the exact same effect Rugged Sword provides, but this time as a passive, always active buff. There are both good and bad scenarios for this, but if Rorona is going to stay dead in a fight, you’d prefer this effect that doesn’t require her to act. This item only works with physical teams.
Steel Staff
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.
Rorona works much better with direct buffs added on her items over buff potency boosts, but if she is going to be dead during the fight, this is also a good alternative to use, passively boosting her passive skill and memoria/gear buffs given.
Silver Jacket
While equipped to a Supporter with Slash affinity, after using a skill, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 5 ~ 7% for 1 turn.
This armor provides a stackable critical damage buff that’s actually bigger than the Angel Staff. It’s a no brainer choice and essentially always the better choice.
Carefree Swimsuit
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.
Boosts to buff potencies are good, but the inferior choice for Rorona.
Scale Armor
While equipped to a Supporter with Slash affinity, boosts potency of buff effects given by 6 ~ 8% and boosts skill damage by 5 ~ 6%.
Very good piece of armor, essentially same as a Skuller Coat but easier to craft. The skill damage buff only applies on herself so it is negligible for Rorona.
Tutél Talon
While equipped to a Supporter with Slash affinity, boosts all allies’ critical damage by 6 ~ 9%.
Although not stackable, these shoes provide a superb passive boost to critical damage, bigger than any other item in her arsenal. This item also has +12 Speed and is pretty much always best in slot. It’s locked behind Floor 30 of Slash Tower, however.
Witch’s Mask
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts potency of buff effects given by 7 ~ 10%.
Decent alternative working for all teams. It’s not better than the other options but it’s a serviceable piece to use.
Victory Charm
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts all allies’ physical attack skill damage by 2 ~ 3%.
Ideal budget piece to support physical teams. It’s a passive effect active all times so it’s not stackable.
Carefree Goggles
While equipped to a Supporter, boosts all allies’ magic attack skill damage by 2 ~ 3%.
Exactly the same as Victory Charm, but this time to assist magic teams.
Main Traits
- Enhance Damage Buff [A]. 3x of these at all times to enhance her passive skill and all the great critical damage buff from her excellent gear choices. This is her most important trait.
- All Recovery Boost. Not as important to have maxed compared to Enhance Damage Buff [A], but still very good to have in some measure. Despite her Burst Skill and Skill 1 having fixed HP% based healing, this trait will increase those amounts. Her Burst Skill can heal slightly over 50% of all party members’ max HP with 3x of these, not considering other forms of recovery boosts. Her Skill 2 is unaffected by this.
Situational Traits
- The All-Target Attack Resistance Up trait is more than likely her only other relevant trait, adding and extra but often unnecessary bit of survivability to her against AoE attacks. This can be good if you plan to use her in disadvantageous situations, like Affinity Towers that are not Slash.
- Other forms of recovery, such as Recovery Boost or Recovery Boost [D] are situational, but almost never really worth chasing. Use as replacement only.
- Her kit may look simple or underwhelming, but provides insane comfort to her team. With many non disruptive skills, she can perform a variety of tasks from buffing to healing, without consuming any valuable debuffs on the enemies.
- Her Skill 2 is a 100% critical rate buff which doesn’t necessarily translates into a guaranteed critical hit. Penalties to buff potencies will negatively impact this number, potentially reducing it to way below that amount resulting in a non critical attack.
- In the same manner, increases to buff potencies will positively impact this buff, bringing to potentially above 200%. There are certain damage dealers, such as Valeria: Radiant Summer and Izana: Stormy Smite, who can convert any amount of critical rate provided to them that exceeds 100% to critical damage, synergizing well with this buff.
- The P.Atk buff on her Burst is capped at 30%, which can be achieved by using it twice. It cannot exceed that amount, but the benefit is permanent and applies to all allies, enhancing not only regular damage but also stun damage and healing from physical allies.
- The 20% skill damage buff on her passive is always active. With Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait, this buff will become a powerful 50% instead, and will remain active the entire fight even if Rorona dies.
- With proper itemization and turn management, she can provide a large amount of critical damage buffs to her team mates as well.
- She is abnormally tanky. Just look at her defensive stats. She can take a ridiculous amount of punishment compared to other supports.
- A green-colored right side synthesis gift makes her ideal to craft support items with Enhanced Damage Buff [A] and All-Target Attack Resistance Up, thanks to the valuable Academy Symbolic Tree material.
- She is excellent to craft battle items with Fire Curse as well, when paired with Valeria [Dreamer of the Past] who is a free 5 stars unit.
