Status Effect Immunity
Surprisingly, Stand Against the Apexi! tops this list beating the powerful Promise of a Return thanks to its higher P.Atk stat and not much lower critical damage, a stat Valeria will have plenty of when her passive is fully stacked, making this difference quite minor compared to the stat difference. It also has higher Speed, something that seems to fit her kit and usual teammates well. The latter option is extremely strong either way.
Following in the list, more traditional skill damage memorias are A Reason to Fight and Shippy, Set Sail!, both memorias without any special condition but ones that can be difficult to obtain and rank up. Fortunately, not far behind is Lazy Afternoon, an old and accessible memoria that is equal in power but will only work against enemies weak to Strike, something that is honestly not hard to achieve with the allies Valeria is usually accompanied and supported by, like Heidi: Thief of Rose. This memoria is a fantastic starting point.
In the last spot is Silver Snow Delight, a powerful single-target only memoria with a higher boost than the previous three, but with a more punishing condition requiring the target to be stunned. This is normally not that hard considering the sheer breaking power of Strike Breakers, but something that should be left as a last resort.
Crystal Rod
While equipped to an Attacker, boosts potency of buff effects received by 11 ~ 15%.
Despite having a lower base P.Atk stat than other weapons, the sheer amount of extra buff values you can gain from all team members, battle items and especially her own passive combined, will vastly outperform higher P.Atk alternatives.
Always the best choice, assuming right traits.
Unyielding Axe
Boosts skill damage by 12 ~ 17% when attacking a target’s Strike weakness.
With the only condition of hitting enemies weak to Strike, this is the second strongest option in her kit, although not by a large margin.
Halberd
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, after attacking, boosts own skill damage by 5 ~ 7% for 2 turns.
This weapon, in contrast, does not have any conditions and works equally against all enemies, but it has a slower start and a lower ceiling. It can be the right weapon to build if you play Valeria often, in multiple content.
Bloody Claw
While equipped to a character with Strike affinity, after using a skill, boosts own P. ATK by 8 ~ 11% for 1 turn.
Another very strong weapon with a very powerful effect that can outshine the previous 2 in absence of the Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait. This is not recommended to do, but even with it, these daggers are not that much weaker.
Silver Thread Armor
Boosts potency of buff effects received by 9 ~ 12%.
Hands down the best piece of armor to use, by virtue of adding an immense amount of bonuses with her passive skill maxed out, and impacting also buffs given by allies and battle items of any kind.
Clear Leather Armor
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, boosts critical damage by 17 ~ 24%.
Massive boost to critical damage, active at all times. It’s also enhanced by any Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait she could have equipped. It’s a great item but outclassed by Silver Thread Armor when in presence of many buffs and battle items.
Erde Mantel
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, boosts single-target attack skill damage by 15 ~ 21%.
Massive boost to skill damage, active at all times. It’s also enhanced by any Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait she could have equipped. It’s a great item but also outclassed by Silver Thread Armor when in presence of many buffs and battle items.
Cute Pauldrons
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, boosts potency of buffs received by 10 ~ 14%. It also boosts all “Promise & Teamwork” characters’ potency of buffs received by an additional 3 ~ 4%.
The new best accessory for Valeria, significantly boosting the potency of all buffs received even further. All things considered, the gains from this item vastly surpass the ones from other accessories.
Origin Necklace: Strike
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, boosts burst skill damage by 17 ~ 25%.
Massive boost to skill damage, active at all times, also enhanced by any Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait she could have equipped. It used to be go-to best accessory in her list, but it is now outclassed by Cute Pauldrons when in presence of many buffs and battle items.
Silent Shoes
While equipped to an Attacker with Strike affinity, boosts burst skill damage by 13 ~ 18%.
A similar but weaker boost compared to Origin Necklace – Strike, but with higher Speed and no HP. This item is rarely used considering her already high Speed, but the option is there if you need it.
Main Traits
- The Enhanced Damage Buff [A] trait is by far Valeria’s most important trait. She is one of a handful of characters in the game that wants 3x of these traits, instead of the regular 2x, serving as a testament of how powerful this trait is on her boosting every buff on her gear, memoria and primarily her Battle Maiden Bloom passive effect.
- Burst Skill Power Up follows closely behind, heavily boosting the damage of her Burst Skill and serving as compensation for the missing 25% Skill Power loss from using 3x Enhanced Damage Buff [A] traits. Valeria is a character that is designed to deal damage with Bursts, so the loss in damage from other skills is non severe. If it becomes an issue, there are most likely other underlying issues present, like bad turn management.
Situational Traits
- Despite the above, regular Skill Power Up traits are perfectly acceptable to have instead. It’s just an strict damage loss especially in Tournament content.
- Single Attack Power Up is essentially the same as Skill Power Up on Valeria. It makes no difference since Valeria only has single target attacks.
- Critical Damage Up is Valeria’s least desirable trait mainly because of the immense opportunity cost of not having any of the main traits or Skill Power related traits. It’s not a bad trait, but it will produce very poor results in comparison.
- Valeria is widely known as the first of a handful of “do-it-all” characters due to her tremendous presence in Roman’s Tournament, dominating the rankings in 6 out of 7 of them, despite the affinity disadvantages.
- Her passive, when enhanced by the right gear and traits, can spike completely out of control, giving her buffs bordering the 250% critical and 500% burst skill damage, something that is unprecedented for damage dealers, until more recently where new characters have similar boosts.
- Even if in the future her dominating presence fades, a strongly built team around Valeria can deal above 50 million damage in all 7 tournaments, obtaining all Gold Emblems.
- Her Burst Skill creates a turn for Valeria 3 panels immediately after her current turn. This turn will always push any ally or enemy that was previously in said panel one panel to the left, no matter what.
- This extra turn can be used to cast any skill, including Burst Skill, if the panel includes it. This can enable Valeria to effectively to chain Burst Skills one after another non-stop, if the panels are placed in such way. Hint: Many fights are conveniently designed for this, especially tournaments.
- Despite the above, many fights also have empty portions in the time where no Burst Panels exist, breaking this chain. Characters like Rorona: Joyful Leader can help her maintain this momentum during those empty portions by creating the panel necessary to continue the chain.
- Because of the insane amount of skill damage and critical damage buffs she usually gets, P.Atk buffs are much stronger on her than other characters.
- To balance out the large amount of buffs her passive provides, her skill potencies are lower than average.
- Any skill used in the extra turn created by her Burst Skill does not influence the timeline at all. It does not matter if you use Skill 1, 2 or Burst, the wait time difference will not change future panels. With this in mind, it’s never worth using Skill 1 in these extra turns since you will only be losing damage. The only exception to this rule is to get rid of negative effects on Valeria.
- The extra critical rate built into her Skill 2 and Burst is not categorized as a buff, so it cannot be modified by increases or reductions to buff potencies. These skills will always deal critical hits, no matter what.
- Killing an enemy will increase Battle Maiden Bloom by 2 levels. Using Skill 2 will increase it by 1 level and using Burst Skill will increase it by 3 levels. It is possible to gain 4 or 5 levels at once by killing an enemy with the respective skill, meaning Valeria only needs to kill 2 enemies with her Burst Skill to fully cap her effect.
- Passive bonuses are cumulative, capping at 100% critical damage and 200% burst skill damage at a base level, before any buff enhancement or trait modifies them.
- Of course, she is also immune to all status effects because why not.
